It's been nice being home, though. A real load off, until I start thinking about the fact that we've got a half-new team to whip into shape by February. And thanks for all the gifts, guys. I'll thank you in person when I get back to school, I've been meaning to write you all notes but every time I sit down with this thing I end up going to sleep. it's like I've turned into some kind of nap fiend. I sleep all the time. I can't decide if it's the food, or the lack of homework, or just my old be, but it always seems like a really, really good idea.

We need another round of Quidditch tryouts, and we need them now. We haven't got a Seeker, and we haven't got a Keeper. What we do have is about two months until our next match, but some of that's getting eaten up by holidays.

Practices are going well, I think. First game's in about a month. I expect no shortage of spectators or enthusiasm. Right? I realize asking for enthusiasm after recent events might seem a little dangerous, but I think most people know the difference between waving a pennant and boiling over in a ridiculous flood of profanity. So ... start making your fabulously detailed novelty Gryffindor hats.

Tryouts are in about two and a half weeks. If anyone wants someone to practice with, let me know. I don't really fancy waiting that long to get up on a broom with some of you.

I've seen a few people asking about a meeting date. I thought we could get together sometime early next week, in the before-dinner hour. How does that sound?

Like all of our meetings, this is about practicing Defense. If for some reason you have another issue you'd like to raise, that's fine, but it needs to go through Luna or Neville or me first. We're not open for new business all the time; we'd never get anything done, if we were.
